San Francisco’s new hottest neighborhood is Glen Park. A small area south of Noe Valley and west of Bernal Heights, it’s a natural choice for buyers who are being priced out of those increasingly popular neighborhoods. With its own BART station, proximity to freeway 280, parks everywhere, and a cute little area of neighborhood shopping, Glen Park has a village feel in a convenient location.
Trulia ranks all of San Francisco’s neighborhoods’ popularity week-by-week on the basis of search behavior on their site. Glen Park is the fifth most popular neighborhood this week, just behind more established and larger neighborhoods like Pacific Heights, South Beach, Noe Valley, and Potrero Hill. The median sales price for the neighborhood is up almost 50% over last year ($425,000!) and average list price is up 11% week-over-week. With only 16 homes currently on the market, increased demand in the neighborhood means the real estate market in Glen Park is about to become extremely competitive.
