First SOMA, Mission Bay, and Dogpatch became San Francisco’s hottest neighborhoods; now it’s Candlestick Point’s turn, with new developments moving in and jumpstarting the area’s resale market. The San Francisco Shipyard development (represented by The Mark Company) has already started sales on its first two buildings, more pre-construction in Hunter’s Point is coming soon, and following the imminent demolition of the Candlestick Park stadium, construction in Candlestick Point will be getting started later this year. Neighborhood real estate agent Jessie Lee wrote last month that sales prices in the area are already up 30% over last year, and both buyers and sellers are getting a head start on resale homes there.
Currently, Jessie Lee has several condominiums for sale in Candlestick Point. One Crescent Way #1103 is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo with 1-car parking that is available for sale now at $799,000. It’s a corner unit with a garden outlook and over 1,337 square feet. Already sold are 401 Crescent Court #4206, a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo that sold for $499,000, and 301 Crescent Court #3105, a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo with a direct water view and a huge balcony that sold for $530,000 with all cash.
The rental market in the Candlestick Point neighborhood is also heating up with the promise of new neighborhood amenities that will come with the new developments; a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom at 501 Crescent Way #5107 just rented out for $2,800 a month, and a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom with a direct water view at 301 Crescent Ct #3117 was listed at $2,850 and got an application within 3 days of being advertised for rent.
